Trail Markers
Through exploration, we connect. To the land, to the people who embody its spirit, and to the ideas that move us. We share stories of hidden trails, open horizons, and the people who craft, build, and inspire. Each story highlights how the changing seasons shape not just the landscapes around us, but the course of our own lives.
The Journey
Captures the places that move us, from quick practical guides to trails, towns, and wild corners of the world (Waypoints) to short reflections and snapshots of adventures (Postcards from the Path).

Glacier National Park
Glacier makes its presence known early. The land rises and the mountains begin to take up more of the windshield than the sky. By the time the entrance sign comes into view, it is clear this is a place governed by weather, not preference.

Lower Antelope Canyon
Nothing about the desert around it prepares you for what waits below.
The ground runs flat. Vehicles idle. People gather near an entrance that would be easy to miss without the marker. Out on the surface, the land keeps its calm expression. Only when you step closer does it open, a narrow seam in the sandstone dropping into shadow.

Million Dollar Highway
Early on, something moves across the sky above the road. A steady set of lights, low and slow. For a moment it looks like a plane cutting across the valley, flying lower than it should. Then the perspective shifts. The lights don’t move on. They rise. It’s traffic, far above, tracing the road as it winds higher into the mountain. The scale takes a second to settle.

Bear Mountain, Sedona, Arizona
Bear Mountain isn’t far from Sedona’s busiest trails, but it feels worlds apart. To get there, you have to pass up the temptation, the full lots, the photo-op overlooks, the sense that if you don’t stop, you’ll miss something spectacular. It takes a small act of defiance to keep driving, to take the lead on your own path instead of following the crowd. The parking lot doubles for Doe Mountain and Bear Mountain . Doe’s trailhead is obvious, well worn and marked. Bear’s is ac

Lake Superior Provincial Park
Somewhere about 130 kilometers north of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, the world changes. The road bends north along Highway 17, and suddenly you are in another realm, one ruled by cliffs, water, and endless sky. The first glimpse of Lake Superior hits like a deep breath you did not know you were holding. It is hard to believe you are still standing beside a lake. This is the largest freshwater lake in the world by surface area, but it behaves more like an ocean, cold, moody, and

Flagstaff, Arizona
Flagstaff is a surprise by design. Tucked at 7,000 feet in northern Arizona, it rises from the high desert like an island of green, crowned by the San Francisco Peaks and wrapped in the world’s largest contiguous ponderosa pine forest. To anyone picturing cactus and sandstone, it feels almost improbable.

Doran’s Pizza & Pasta Co.
Instagram isn’t always the most reliable travel guide. Filters and captions tend to polish the rough edges, hiding the waiting lines and parking lots just out of frame. But every now and then, a place lives up to the photo. Doran’s Pizza & Pasta Co. , located in the Spur Bar in Moose, Wyoming , is one of those rare exceptions. After waking up in Yellowstone National Park , the journey south leads into the Tetons. Moose, Wyoming, sits quietly along the Snake River on the oppo
